Aus diesem Grund soll in der Hausarbeit mit folgender Fragestellung gearbeitet werden:

„Welche Herausforderungen bringt eine Familiäre Bereitschaftsbetreuung mit sich?“

Dabei soll das Augenmerk auf Säuglingen und Kleinstkindern liegen, da ein gesamtheitlicher Blick, aufgrund des begrenzten Umfangs dieser Hausarbeit, nicht gerecht werden würde.
Zunächst soll neben einer Definition eine rechtliche Einordnung vorgenommen werden. Anschließend werden Funktionen und Aufgaben der Bereitschaftsbetreuung thematisiert, in dem vor allem Anforderungen an die Bereitschaftsbetreuungsfamilien sichtbar werden sollen. An weiterer Stelle wird auf entwicklungspsychologische Aspekte eingegangen, die in Bezug auf eine Familiäre Bereitschaftsbetreuung bedacht werden müssen. Dazu zählen die Beachtung wichtiger Grundbedürfnisse von Kindern, die Relevanz von Bindung sowie die Bedeutung von Trennungsprozessen. Gleichermaßen wird auch das Zeitempfinden von Kindern thematisiert werden, da sich dies vom Zeitempfinden der Erwachsenen stark unterscheidet und somit zu berücksichtigen ist. Mithilfe dieses Hintergrundwissens wird dann eine Verknüpfung vorgenommen, die die Herausforderungen der Familiären Bereitschaftsbetreuung sichtbar machen sollen. Am Ende der vorliegenden Hausarbeit sollen die gesammelten Arbeitserkenntnisse und Ergebnisse zusammengefasst und bewertet werden, welche im Fazit aufgezeigt werden und Grundlage für einen Ausblick bilden.
